In view of the increased interest from players and organizations to engage accredited trainers – especially in view of SUKMA 2024 to be held next year, MCF is planning to conduct its first ever National Train-The-Trainer and Coach Program from the 30th September to 1st October 2023. The two day program is aimed at teaching and sharing tips and knowledge with trainers who are keen to attain recognition from MCF and other National entities like OCM, KPM and MSN, in pursuing their career as Chess Trainer/Coach. Mooted by MCF Technical Chairman and MCF National Head Coach Sumant Subramaniam, the initiative is to help develop trainers/coaches to be more structured, and organized, providing a standardize approach for trainers/coaches to conduct training program including those who run chess academies and learning entities.
To complete the accreditation process, those who have completed the program are required to conduct their own training program and submit a complete report to MCF before earning their MCF Accredited Trainer certificate. Where feasible, MCF will also employ/hire a few of these aspiring trainers as MCF National Trainee to run National Training Program later this year or early next year to earn their recognition, and a portion of the collection.
The first ever program will be conducted in Putrajaya – at the Putrajaya Chess Center/Traju Center, in Precinct Diplomatic, and is limited only to the first 20 applicants. The cost of the program is RM300 per person and applicants will be responsible for their own travelling, accommodation and meal costs throughout the program. Depending on the reception from the community, MCF plans to conduct at least 2 more similar programs in the Klang Valley area before the end of the year.
Aside from being awarded with MCF Accredited Trainer/Coach Certificate, those who completed the program can also expect to earn the following benefits:
- Name in MSN/OCM registry as recognized Trainer/Coach – Level 1
- Hall access during MCF events
- Newsletter & Updates
- Coaching Services Ads in MCF website/References for Trainers
- As Coaches in our NTP program – paid/profit sharing program
Those who are interested to join can register by CLICKING HERE and provide the proof of payment for RM300 to be accepted into the program.
MCF plans to discuss with FIDE the possibility of making this program as part of FIDE Training requirements for Malaysians to gain FIDE accreditation. Nonetheless, with SUKMA looming in the horizon, and many schools/organizations looking for accredited trainers/coaches, MCF Training Accreditation is a step forward towards making chess development in Malaysia a more structured approach and rewarding return for those planning to take up Chess Training and Coaching as their career.
