In conjunction with Diplomat Day celebration, the Russian House in Kuala Lumpur – formerly known as the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, will be organizing an invitational chess tournament to be held on Saturday, 12th February 2022 at its premise on Jalan Ampang starting at 2:00 pm.

MCF President – Akhramsyah Muammar Ubaidah Sanusi receiving a gift from the Director of Russia House – Svetlana Kovaleva, during MCF’s recent visit to the center in December 2021.

The semi-invitational tournament will be held over 6 rounds with a time control of 10 minutes per player per game. While the event is open for anyone to join, priority will be given to foreign officials of the various embassies and high consulates located around Kuala Lumpur with participation limited only to the first 50 players registered.

There is no entry fee imposed for those who are selected/invited to play, and participants will be treated with high tea and a front-row seat to view some of the rare and exciting collections of chess exhibitions ever displayed at the Russian House. Winners of the tournament will earn medals and certificates, and the champion will have a chance to hold aloft the Dato Tan Chin Nam challenge trophy donated by the late tycoon for the annual event.

If you are interested to be a part of the event, do give a call to Iwan Schani Ibnu – MCF Assistant Secretary and Tournament Director at +6017.564.5183 to inquire about booking your seat at the fun event. Remember – first come first serve!
